Standardisation of Good and Bad

3/09/2011 Shayoni Majumder 0 Comments

What makes us take a decision about good or bad? Means, what are the actual criterion which let us know that something or someone is good or bad?  For example, we consider telling lie a bad thing and speaking truth a good thing, stealing a bad deed and charity a good one. How have we decided all these?

We learn the lesson of good or bad in the very first stage of life by the people around us when we are like wet clay. Because I think that the first things which a child learns about this world are good and bad and then differentiating between them. If they somehow learn that stealing is good deed and charity is bad then that will only reside in their mind. Thus, the fact is that all of us need a standard, standards like that of standard weights and measures, Greenwich mean time, and thus the standard of good and bad. What is good for me may be bad for you because of the opposite nature of our standards. These standards may be our parents, our relatives, out religion, our believes, any book or any other thing or person of such kind.

Everything in this universe are relative things. Like I am at rest with respect to my table, and in motion with respect to the sun. So I can say that telling lie is bad with respect to my standard and ... and I cannot continue because you only know what is good and what is bad with respect to your standard.

What makes us take a decision about good or bad? Means, what are the actual criterion which let us know that something or someone...

The Radiation of Feelings

Radiation of Feelings

You may have heard about radiation of waves, lights, etc. But after reading the title of this blog post you may think over and over that can feelings also radiate! Yes, of course, but not in the way in which waves or light radiate.

OK, take an example. Suppose your friend is sitting beside you in a very angry mood and is shouting on you. You may or may not try to make him or her calm, but you most probably will acquire at least some anger. So, the conclusion here is that this 'radiation' is entirely an 'experimental' phenomena, unless you experience it you will be not able to understand it properly.

In whatever mood you may be and howsoever hard you are trying to hide it, your expressions will surely tell your current mood status and will surely influence others around you. But there are some exceptions in this process. Unlike the other radiations of the physical quantities, it is not necessary that your feelings are radiated in exactly the same form in which they are in you. It may deform or may become exactly opposite when it reaches to another person.

You should always remember that your feelings can influence others. So, always think about others first. Your feelings should not effect others in any way so as to cause any harm to them whether physically or mentally.

The Two Important C's of Life

2/14/2011 Shayoni Majumder 0 Comments

Life is a very random phenomenon. Its entropy increases as we grow and experience the life more and more. It has no specific 'geometry' and it is too amorphous. So, here I wish to discuss one part of this random phenomenon-the two C's of life viz. Cooperation and Conflict.

Only god knows that at which point of life we will have and need to cooperate and where we have to conflict. Here, I want to clear the that the conflict I am talking about is not any kind of war, I am referring to the struggles in our life. So, now I will get back to the point. I just want to say that we ourselves are the ones who decide that we have to cooperate or conflict for our living.

I have explained my views about cooperation and help in an earlier post. (Read it here). So, here I will continue with my views on conflicts. If we have to remain in the position acquired by us and want all our rights should be ours then conflict is the way to get that, because in every sphere of life keeping quiet doesn't actually work. Not only we humans, but every creature whether small or big have to conflict for their living and for their future generations.

History is a witness that conflict has been a necessary part in everyone's life. Yes, sometimes it brings an unrest in our life but it has to be there to bring peace in the near future.

Conflict is a temporary unrest to bring a rest in our life and cooperation is something that brings satisfaction in us.

Life is a very random phenomenon. Its entropy increases as we grow and experience the life more and more. It has no specific '...

Fear of Success

2/10/2011 Shayoni Majumder 2 Comments

It may be very hard to believe, but is a big truth of life that many of us become fearful when we achieve success or when success nears us. This fact may be astonishing for many of us, one can truly believe it when one faces the same.

Everyone of us wishes to become a successful person in one or the other field of life. Is there anyone who want to be a failure? I don't think so. So now the million price question arises, how can one fear even success? Is success our enemy? Will success do any harm to us? No...absolutely not. Then why this fear?

We do very hard work and struggle throughout the path of reaching our destination. But when we reach or near the destination, we look back to that entire path. It is impossible to achieve something without loosing another. So at that moment we begin to think and recollect all the losses and sacrifices we have made. This thinking goes on and reaches to that extent that we start thinking that do we really deserve the success or not? And here we start treading back and make the greatest mistake of our life and do not get the chance even to repent on it. So,

Never lose any chance to grasp the success which is yours and only yours.

It may be very hard to believe, but is a big truth of life that many of us become fearful when we achieve success or when success nears us....

Feeling of Superiority vs. Inferiority

Feeling of Superiority vs. Inferiority

Life makes us to see many upheavals; sometimes it lets us to face failure and the other time to face success. These are the two very opposite but true ends of the string of life. And these two phases only make our life balanced. One takes us up and the other let us fall. At this point, I would like to point out that I have not mentioned which phase takes us up and which one brings us down. This is just because this decision depends entirely on us.

It is a very common or we can say a general trend to have the feeling of superiority when we go through the phase of success. We are the only ones who let us think that we are at the top. But at this point introspection is a must. We should think over and over that is this success a permanent one, are we not giving ourselves a boost more than which is required by us. So according to my view, this phase of success should be the one to bring us down. This ‘bringing down’ should not be misunderstood with failure, it only means bringing our entire ego, the feeling of superiority down, and hence, at this stage we make our life balanced.

Another general trend is to think ourselves as inferior ones when we face failure. It is said that humans grow their grief by thinking more and more about the cause of the grief. We bring ourselves and our abilities more and more down. We see successful people around and instead of taking inspiration from them we tend to grow a feeling of repulsion from them and the inferiority complex starts growing. Now, I would like to tell that whatever may be the situation, one should...no, no…must take oneself up, one must give oneself a boost because

We ourselves are the biggest helpers for us.

Hence, in the phase of failure also, we can make our life balanced. I know these are not so easy, but it has to be done, otherwise we will be the only ones to destroy ourselves.

Life makes us to see many upheavals; sometimes it lets us to face failure and the other time to face success. These are the two very ...

Make the Mind More Immune

1/17/2011 Shayoni Majumder 0 Comments

The path of life is too strange, sometimes it is smooth as butter and sometimes puzzling like that of a maze. Sometimes we find all the situations suitable for us and sometimes the situations are in exact contrast to what we actually want.

Our mind works just like the antibacterial action. In the very first stage of life, it is not prepared for not even a small problem. But as one moves forward in one's life one finds several storms of challenges and each worse situation acts as a vaccine to one's mind and later if one finds similar problem the mind automatically generates such thoughts which lets one fight with one's overall strength. At this stage we can, in a way, say that one's mind has become immune to that situation.

In this way our experience grows more and more in all the possible dimensions. We become prepared for higher and higher tides in the tempest of life.

Our body becomes prone to diseases without proper immunity. Just like that our mind breaks into pieces when it is not immune to the worst situation possible.

The path of life is too strange, sometimes it is smooth as butter and sometimes puzzling like that of a maze. Sometimes we find all the sit...
